Last Year in Review

Bonjour! How was your weekend?

Ours? Fun and relaxing:

I. Friday

I got to kick it in the background while the four girls played with one another during the playdate.

These were the snacking appetizers:

Lunch consisted of Trader Joe Organic Mac 'n Cheese along with this:

Dessert was one of TJ's newest products - chocolate drizzled kettle korn along with Duncan Hines Red Velvet Cupcakes the Princesses had made at their Bella's house.

I snapped one shot of the beauties:

Their mum gave me these pretty flowers later on in the afternoon. Merci Shar!

II. Saturday

I took my daughters to meet up with a former, 5th grade family:

We met up at Ambrosia's for coffee and pastries. See that beautiful young lady in the middle? I had taught her nine years ago! She's in her second year of college. Gosh how time flies.

Later on that evening, E took his girls out to Minami, a Japanese restaurant owned by my dawg's parents for over 13 years.  Prepare to drool:

And today, Sunday, boo >.< hoo, is the last day of carefree as tomorrow it's back to the grind, sigh.

III. Last Year in Review

Honestly, like how some of you had felt, I didn't feel like I made much in 2012.

7 toy-related items:

+

4 neck accessories

+

2 pairs of socks

+

11 beanies

+

4 headwarmers

+

Oh, I can't forget these two, hooked blankets:

What's the grand total? 30 projects.
Hmmm...not ^^ bad, yeah? I found like some of you when you collage everything up, it sure blows away your initial hypothesis! I'm pretty happy with this result.

I would like to note though that these were mostly small-medium projects. I get so impatient. I do need faster gratification.

However, for 2013, I'd like to have the following goals:

1. Be on much of a yarn diet - I know O.O eek! - as much as possible. For my noncrafters, that means trying not to buy yarn.

2. Knit at least two to three garments.

3. Design three items.

And 4. Craft Christmas gifts this year.

Okay. I've got it down. It's official after much thought this week.

What is one very important goal of yours this 2013?

  1. What a great list of lovely projects. Quite the accomplishment.
New year goal: my knitty output should exceed my yarn consumption!
My yarn storage is full and I refuse to expand... time to start making a serious dent in my stash if I want to start purchasing again :)))

  4. Sounds like you had a blissful last weekend of freedom, we to are back to the grind stone :(
I'm already wondering when the next school holidays are.. I do believe I've to wait until Easter for a long one ahh well.
I think you accomplished a lot this year and when you see it all laid out its a feast of yarnness !
I like your goals, simple striaght forward and not to many you are going to achieve those no problem this year. I'm one important goal is to try and find the balance to fitting reading back into my personal time with stitching and knitting, its been slack of late.

  6. So does this mean you're not going to buy anything at Stitches West in a few weeks? I'm just curious, you know, for science.

  7. I love how you always make sure you and your family enjoy good food! As for your knitting, you are a knitting diva -- 30 projects?? Large or small, that's still hours and hours of knitting not to mention all the care and expense you put into these beautiful objects. ; )
