Aloha! How is your week so far? Ours? Brrr!
Did you get a flu shot? I know there are some ppl who don't believe in it. I didn't for last year's flu season but did for this year's. The news scared me over the weekend when there was a story about a 6 year old boy who died from it recently. So sad and horrible for his family. My thoughts go out to them.
Mahalo for all the snood and food love!
The snood is actually a friend's la hanau gift. I will definitely make one for myself one day but in Rowan Cocoon Bilberry that my brother and sil had bought for me I think the last time they were in LA and swung by Knit Culture Studio at my request.
As for that oven omelette, it was so good, even though I had forgotten the milk. I'm gonna make it again this week! Princess Jellybean is eating spinach now and really liked the omelette when she had tried it. Princess Cupcake loved the fingerling potatoes and is a fan now.
Well! I'm jumping back onto the
Fiona of KnitKnatKnotUK is hosting the One-a-Day link party now.
I ordered some yarn from Knit Picks for my 24 day old niece:
I have the following here:
1. Brava Worsted in Sienna (It's not as dark as it shows above; it's more of a reddish-brown.), Dove Heather, and Tranquil;
2. Comfy Worsted in Seafoam;
and 3. Swish Worsted in Green Tea Heather.
I have two skeins of Comfy and Swish. Before Miranda was born, I had e-mailed my brother and sil a link to my Color Inspiration Pin board. Marie picked out the Design Seeds Chameleon Tones color palette.
I'll be using Lucy of Attic 24's Ripple pattern. I'm only making a crib-sized blanket. I read the project pages of ripples that had helpful notes, finding Purlynne's who had chained 129 (126+3). It'll be exciting to start and work on this as I've been wanting to hook a ripple and it'll be cool to work in these colors that are nontraditional!
Until next time, stay healthy. Aloha.

Little Man just got his fu shot today. It's morning, inf fact. I haven't gotten mine and I may not. It depends if I stop being sick first.
ReplyDeleteSince I work on a college campus and am surrounded by people everyday, I got my flu shot as soon as they were being offered in the fall! Let's hope we all manage to stay healthy throughout this season (wash your hands!!).
ReplyDeleteLove the new yarns and ripple blankets are so delightful. Happy hooking!
That's one thing I've learned from working at a hospital/med school, that the flu is very dangerous especially for young children and people who don't go to the doctor/hospital in time. Also some people don't understand that the flu vaccine is designed months ahead of time according to a prediction of how the virus will evolve, sometimes they get it right and sometimes they don't. I absolutely love the colors she picked out, they are so pretty! It's going to be a gorgeous blanket.
ReplyDeleteHi Kepanie! I love these colors A LOT! They will look fantastic in the Ripple pattern -- one I've always wanted to crochet! It will be a blanket your niece will treasure :)
