One-a-Day Tuesday

Aloha on this sunny but cold and windy day.

Mahalo nui loa for those of you who've entered my little giveaway! If you haven't yet, the deadline is Saturday, February 2nd.

Can I tell you I'm so excited for

 today?

I worked hard on Miranda's Mirripple Sunday and at ballet yesterday:

My goal was to at least have all the colors representin' by today! You see above 39" width.

Isn't it gorgeous - ^^ sqee?!!

I am so happy, happy that my sil picked out this chameleon inspired, color palette! I did change the order a bit so the blue-greens wouldn't be right next to one another. I'm especially in love with the Green Tea Heather and the Dove Heather together! I like the light blue-green also although its texture is different as its cotton and acrylic while the others have some wool in them.

Lucy of Attic 24's ripple pattern rocks! It's easy to memorize. I get the ripple code and hope to crack my grandmother's one day.

As for how I'm attaching new yarn when there's a color change...I BO off the old color first. I start the new color fresh. Then I hold the tail of the new color with the working yarn and hold the old color up next to the sts of its last row, and DC away. So my turning chains on one side are thicker, but when I hook the border of this blanket, I don't think they'll be noticeable at all.

What'd you work on the most last weekend?

  1. Oh, how awesome! I so love limited colour palettes, but somehow always end up with unlimited ones. Can't wait to see your ripple finished!

  2. I love those colors together and the pattern looks pretty awesome.
I am working on a pie shawl in oatmeal, and now onto a blue strip, then it will be oatmeal again, finishing with a natural dark brown. It looks good in my head so I hope it works out.

  3. I need to learn how to crochet properly...without having to look up every single stitch. I can crochet but I have to keep looking at a video so I know how to do the stitch I'm working with. I suppose that's not good.

I spent some time with my Vanilla Socks (the first one is finished and the second one is on it's way). I also worked on Little Man's Vest but I think I'm going to have to have a little think about this one. It's already wider than called for and I'm going to have to compensate by adding length and making the armholes a bit bigger...I'm not quite sure how I want to do that yet. So, I'm going to think on it for a bit.

We're moving at the end of February so I think my knitting time is going to be limited and I won't be starting anything new anytime soon. Oh well.
