Ann yeong! How're you today?
I just woke up I'm afraid. Do you ever have those nights where you wake up after a couple hours of sleep and can't fall back asleep? For some reason I've been in this state the past two nights. It was worse last night. I ended up Pinning away my Downton Abbey obsession. Then this morning I was reaching down in the kitchen and had this funny muscle spasm in the left side of my neck. Now it's stiff and it hurts to bend my head to the right, sigh.
I had to flake on volunteering for the rest of this week which of course makes me feel guilty. I also am letting my girls go to childcare afterschool so I can have time to rest. I slept quite a bit when I came back home this late morning. My neck's cozied up in an infinity scarf and chicken noodle soup is cooling down as I type.
And yes, I am still terribly }.{ behind on catching up on your blogs. I think when I start reading, I'll be starting with your most recent posts and work my way back.
Yes, it looks like I'll be blogging at least three - four days a week! I've joined Sarah's The Next Step Sock KAL (Thursdays). I figured this will further support my resolution of knitting from my stash yarn and personal pattern library.
This is Claudia Hand Painted Yarns in Shells on the Beach:
I believe I bought two skeins of this at VOGUE Knitting Live, L.A.
This is the pattern I'll be knitting for myself:

I had bought Rachel Coopey's When Vampires Knit e-book in November 2011. Many knitters are knitting socks for the first time or trying new, sock knitting techniques. I'm still knitting cuff down, one at a time, but I'll be challenged by knitting a lace sock pattern. The first was Cookie A's Monkey and then I had knitted a few pairs of vanilla ones.
So what KALs/CALs are you participating in?
For my nonknitting readers, KAL = Knit-a-long & CAL = Crochet-a-long.

Wow, those socks are going to be gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteNo KALs right now. Too many things in my YOP list(s) and the move and stress. Just not happening.
ReplyDeleteOn a related note: I drove across both the Bay Bridge and the San Mateo Bridge today. As the driver. This is a big deal because I hate traffic and all these people drive like maniacs out here. I survived and I managed not to get too lost.
Oh my gosh, I love that sock pattern and your wool is beautiful. I look forward to seeing your progress. I'm also joining in and hoping I can actually do it, I've only ever knit basic socks before.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon, there's nothing worse than not been able to sleep, have a good weekend. Deb x

ReplyDeleteLove the pattern you have picked. Happy sock knitting. I have shared the kal link on wildflower wool's facebook and twitter pages so more sock knitters can join in the fun!

ReplyDeleteI'm going to be joining in with the BooKnits Valentine shawl MKAL which starts Feb 14th. Just waiting for my yarn to arrive so I can decide which beads suit it best :-)
Very pretty pattern -- your yarn is perfect for it! After doing Monkeys you'll have no problem with the lace!
ReplyDeleteHope your neck feels better. I get back spasms quite often and I usually find an ibuprofen and a warm soak do wonders. A glass of red wine wouldn't hurt either :)
I knit with this exact same yarn and color and it is beautiful. Your socks are going to be lovely!
ReplyDeletePretty yarn! Good luck with the lace, and rest up :)
