Aloha on this cold, weird weather day. We had a spell of rain in the morn and now there's sun on our side. No doubt it'll darken again and more rain will fall.
Mahalo plenty for your ripple love, scarf photo stylin' suggestions, and concern about my 8 year old. She is still having stomach pains and the virus has yet to pass through. So my daughter's home again after checking in at school and she has a doctor's appointment this afternoon. I'm plying her with liquids - chicken noodle and probiotic juice. I told her that's all she's gettin' today until we know the bug's out.
See the new section added to Twilight Meadow?
This is about five repeats of the leg chart which is six rows long. I've got about 5" and need to get up to 6" so I'll be adding another repeat of the leg chart.
I'm not head over heels in love with this pattern but I like it. It's cool. I don't know if it's the sock yarn's colorway. It's pretty but maybe because I've never really been a pink kind of gal or that the colorway name is Shells on the Beach and I'm doing the Meadow pattern rather than the First Beach one?
I think I will like this sock more when I block it out. It just seems a bit scrunchy and gnarled to me. It's a good thing to work on when I'm listening to The Chamber of Secrets - an audiobook I am lovin'!

Your sock looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI hope your daughter feels better. There is nothing worse than a stomach thing. They are so unpredictable.
Poor little one. :-( Does she like raspberries? Raspberry tea is excellent for curing sick little tummies. If they don't like it though, even raspberry jelly or cordial helps. Sending some healing love your way. Hugs xox
ReplyDeleteMmmm....socks...
ReplyDeleteIt rained a little bit over here, too. I don't know that it'll rain again. Oh well. If Little Man and I hadn't been doing laundry, it would have been perfect knitting weather :)
That yarn and pattern are brilliant!! The graduation is making it look so pretty and the name of the yarn is spot on!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it progress!!!
I missed yesterday's post, so I didn't realize your princess was ill :-( Poor little thing, to have to miss her school trip. I hope she's on the mend soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm still in love with your sock and I hope you warm to the color. This is a color I would be drawn to if I saw it in the shop!
Sometimes it takes a little bit of patience, but things work out well in the end. I think your guess will turn out to be right, once you block them and put them on, you will fall in love with them!
ReplyDeleteI hope your daughter feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteThe sock is looking good. I agree that it will start to come to life with blocking. Lovely colour.
I love the colour!
ReplyDeleteI empathise with your poorly daughter - we've has a week of it too but thankfully she finally seems to be on the mend (ear infection). I'm sending lots of get well wishes as I type.
ReplyDeleteI like the sock - you're right though, it's the type of pattern which will be maximised by blocking/wearing on a foot. I'm thinking I'll get some sock lasts before another mammoth sock knitting period, as they do look so much nicer blocked out.
Gosh, your baby has had such a tough time ... I'm sending her healthy wishes. Socks -- yay!
ReplyDeleteShells on a beach is the perfect name for that colour way!
ReplyDeleteI do hope your daughter is feeling better.
I am so sorry for little cupcake! Tummy stuff with littles can be so hard--and then to make the decision to miss the field trip must have been one of those hard mommy moments. I just read down a bit on your page here and want to offer my sympathy to you over your break in. We have had 2 cars stolen from in front of our house in the 18 years we have lived here--along with several car break ins too-and it is a definite feeling of violation, and for me overwhelming anger. My girlfriend, a few streets up from me contacted me this weekend to let me know that there is a band of 4 armed thugs driving around our neighborhood and breaking in. Here adult daughter who lives at home had to call the police last week. Sheesh! I feel like I live in a freaking ghetto sometimes.
ReplyDeleteBut on to the socks.....I love them! All this sock blogging is leaving me sad though that I did not join in. I just could not squeeze it in right now and need to focus on the fact that I am working on the perfect thing right now! ;) Hang in there with this yarn, I think once you get further along you will like it.
*smiles and a hug*
Ooh I love these, the colour is just my cup of tea :) looking forward to seeing the finished loveliness!
